NH Homeschool Portfolio Evaluation
$40 for first child's portfolio evaluation
$25 for each additional child's portfolio evaluation
Each family's homeschooling journey is unique. My goal as an evaluator and a fellow homeschool parent is to support the educational choices of each family.
As a portfolio evaluator, my job is not to critique your homeschool programs, organizational skills, or schooling choices. I simply evaluate whether your child's portfolio shows that s/he has fulfilled the educational requirements of the law which is: progress commensurate with age. You might use an open and go curriculum, an eclectic mix or even unschooling style learning, we will be able to walk through what has been covered throughout the year.
While some parents like to meet one-on-one with an evaluator, others like to include their children in the process. I am willing to travel up to around 40 minutes from Greenville, so much of the Monadnock and Southern, NH region. I am also open to digital or mail-in portfolio reviews. This is entirely up to you and your family and we can chat to discuss what will work best to show your child(ren)'s growth.
Note: I am more than happy to barter and trade to cover the fees. If that is something that would be helpful to your family, please reach out!
Literacy Assessment and Tutoring
Literacy Assessment:
$150 for a single comprehensive literacy assessment session. Sessions last approximately two hours, and include a detailed report. No need to commit to additional sessions, or tutoring. Discounts are available for additional children in a family, but each child needs their own separate assessment session.
Tutoring:
$80 per two hour individualized literacy tutoring session, with commitment to complete a term of at least 10 sessions. Initial and final assessment sessions and a detailed report are included in the total cost.
My goal is to provide literacy assessment and individualized tutoring to students, with a focus on helping students who are experiencing difficulty learning to read and write based on a collection of research-validated assessments, to determine areas of strength and need. These assessments are intended to guide instruction and are not meant diagnose a potential learning disability; though they do provide valuable insight into the student's strengths and weaknesses in reading skills.
After the assessments are completed, I will prepare a detailed report that documents the student’s assessment results and make recommendations for continued progress.
If you choose to have me begin tutoring this student for a term of ten sessions, I will prepare a comprehensive, written final report that documents the student’s progress from beginning to end of tutoring. The report will include all assessment results from the beginning and end of the tutoring term, a list of the texts read, and recommendations for continued progress. Tutoring sessions will be approximately two hours long to cover all literacy domains. Instruction will be targeted to the individual needs and interests of your child and will be research and evidence based.
Due to the interactive nature of tutoring and assessment, these services are offered in person only.
NOTE: At this time, tutoring services are fully booked. Please contact me to be added to the waitlist and I will contact you on a first come first served basis when I have openings.
